Mileage Log PRO App Reviews
This application does the limited things it does well. However its deficiencies for my use give it a low rating. No destination points: I can only enter round trips and not the start mileage and destination mileage. Time: is an interesting feature but I don’t really need it. Expenses: such as fuel, oil change, Tires, fluids, batteries, parts etc. can’t be entered so I cant keep track of costs (I am a contractor so I need to be able to differentiate between personal and work related expenses). Entries: Default to enter todays date so late entries are more work.
A bit pricey (no, change that… VERY pricy- even with the 50% discount) for what it does. Execution is very user friendly. I reached about 60 entries and then entries started recording incorrectly, December shows the wrong year, Overview screen would not show all categories with miles in them. I ended up exporting my work, writing this review and will only keep the program to see if future versions resolve concerns. In other words, cant get a refund for it, so, who knows, maybe the developer will fix and release some time in the future. For now, a spreadsheet program does a better job. Feature wish list: PRINT Reports - Needed for IRS (I was a bit miffed when, after entering the data that I found this basic function missing.) Luckily there is an export to CSV function, so, if you know what to do, you can get a print out through another application. Export to Numbers/Excel formats Sort is defaulted to "By Date" It would be nice to be able to click on the column header to sort by " Entry Type, Description, etc." Add a field that automatically shows IRS rate/mile for "Business" "Charity" and calculated deduction. (Updates would be needed when IRS makes related changes.) In general, this is a beta version of a good idea that needs further development.
